College Student Denied Admission Because of Religious Belief

http://www.christianpost.com/news/college-student-denied-admission-into-program-because-he-said-god-is-most-important-in-his-life-118531/

This article is about a student who applied to a program at a community college in Maryland, and was actually denied admittance, due to his belief in God. When asked what the most important thing in his life was, he answered "My God." When the student asked why he was not admitted, a staff member reportedly responded to the student saying, "this field is not the place for religion."

Hearing about this kind of discrimination of a Christian in America, is really shocking and surprising to me. It is pretty hard to believe that someone working in the education system, would actually deny a student an academic opportunity, simply because of their devout religious belief. I am not a particularly religious person myself, but I definitely do not believe that some fields are "not the place for religion."
